Deposit and final payment
A deposit of 50% is required to reserve an afternoon tea. This can be paid by cheque, cash or bank transfer. The final payment is due on completion of the afternoon tea by cash or cheque. However, we would also accept bank transfer if it reaches our bank account by the day of the afternoon tea. Please make cheques payable to Travelling Teapot.
We are based in Balerno and are happy to travel with a 15 mile radius for no extra charge. Please contact us for a quote for destinations outside this area.
It is recommended that your afternoon tea is booked at least 3 weeks in advance to ensure best availability. We will take bookings 7 days a week; morning, afternoon or evening. At this stage, please ensure that we are aware of any allergies or special requirements.
We will contact you 5 days prior to your afternoon tea to confirm a final head count. Your final bill will be based on this number or the minimum charge.
Set up and collection
We will arrive approximately 45 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Clean up time is approximately half an hour.
Cancellation and changes
The 50% deposit is non-refundable, however, we are more than happy to reschedule your afternoon tea provided you give us more than 7 days notice prior to the original booked date.
Food hygiene and insurance
Our kitchen is registered with Edinburgh Council Environmental Health. Both Carolyn and Mairi have undertaken Basic Food Hygiene training.
Travelling Teapot has public liability insurance.
Travelling Teapot assumes no responsibility or liability for accidents or damages occurring during your afternoon tea from time of set up to completion of afternoon tea, including clean up time. We will work to ensure your venue and guests are treated with great care. Travelling Teapot is not responsible for allergic reactions from consuming any food or beverages before, during or after the afternoon tea. It is the responsibility of the host to inform us of any dietary restrictions.
